Larry Burlon Mills, 72, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Kootenai Memorial Hospital in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Larry was born on January 30, 1940, in Coulee Dam, Wash., to Dewey and Marie Mills.

Larry grew up in Elmer City. He graduated from Coulee Dam High School, in1958. After high school he attended North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene ,.  He worked as a Civil Engineer Technician for firms in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene and retired from Welch Comer & Associates.

Larry married Karen Marchand in 1961 in Coeur d’Alene. They were happily married for 51 years. Larry was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 486. His second love was fishing, more fishing, hunting and all things outdoors.

He is survived by his spouse Karen Mills of Coeur d’Alene; his  daughter, Terri Sauer  (Dave) of Camas, Wash .; his son, Culley Mills (Jayna) of Coeur d’Alene; his sister, Diane Mills, of Spokane; his mother Marie Henderson (Mills) 95 years young of Mountain View, Calif.; his grandchildren Michelle, Allen, Robert, Raynalee and Keston.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Mills.

A celebration of life was held at Red Lion Templin’s, 414 E. First Ave, Post Falls, Idaho 83854 at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14.
