The Coulee Pioneer Museum is looking for members that want to preserve the history and heritage of the Grand Coulee Dam Area. The museum is moving forward with plans to gather information, photos, personal histories, and much, much more about the area. The name is “Coulee Pioneer Museum”. We have a tax number, logo, a slate of officers and an address. With memberships and donations, we will open a bank account soon. At this time we are looking for a donated area where we can gather information and work on projects. One day we will grow big enough to have our own museum.

Memberships of $25 for 2012-2013 memberships can be mailed to PO Box 203, Grand Coulee, WA 99133. We are busy getting the museum up and running. We need funds for supplies and equipment. With a room, we can start to category information for reference at a later date. We have started gathering family history and relationships. With a computer and scanner we will start to gather and document materials. A Grand Coulee Dam family tree has been started, that can be used on to help document residences at Spring Canyon and for later reference at the Museum. At this time we have over 1000 people entered.

If you are interested in helping, the next meeting will be held, Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m., at the art room above the Senior Center. Or you can contact one of the officers which include: Birdie Hensley, Gayle Swagerty, Darlene Morava, Patty Taylor, Joanne Turner or Linda Zlateff.
