Community watch job not even close to done

Another myth has fallen. “Build it and they will come” is no longer true in the city of Electric City.

We have been busy the past few months trying to build a community watch program to take back our city. At the last meeting, only the two organizers and one local police officer came. Now I guess what is true within the city is, buy it and we will come take it, or grow it and we will smoke it, because the citizens don’t care.

The local police have stated that they have gotten some great tips from citizens to help with their jobs in the past months, but the job of cleaning up the city is no way even close to being a success. We need the citizens to believe that they can make a difference.

Also, talk was that the citizens would like to have training. We will not have someone from Ephrata or other places drive to Electric City for a meeting of no-shows.

Thank you to the citizens that have stepped up and become block watch captions, but they need help. They need to know that the citizens want their town back. We cannot continue to take our own money and support a program that the citizens do not want to support. Where do we go from here?

Also, thanks to the Grand Coulee Police Department for their support.
