Grand Coulee Police

10/29 - An Electric City woman told police that her son had requested money from her and that when she refused he left in a vehicle she thought might be stolen. She said there is a court no-contact order that he is not to visit her. She said that in addition to that violation, his license is suspended and there is a Department of Corrections warrant out for his arrest. Police were looking for him.

- A woman in Electric City who lives on Jackson Avenue told police that her son’s bike had been stolen.

10/30 - A woman on Bowen Street reported that her two pit-bull dogs had escaped and were running loose. One was reported to be red and the other blue.

10/31 - USBR Plant Protection requested the department’s bomb-sniffing dog after an employee found an unattended package. Prior to the arrival of the K-9 unit, it was determined that the package had fallen off the back of a delivery truck.

- A woman on Burdin Boulevard told police that several vehicles had stopped in front of her house taking pictures. She asked for extra patrols.

- A woman who was trying to conduct an interview at a residence on Partello Park said that after she opened the gate a dog bit her on the foot, not breaking the skin. An officer learned that the dog had all its shots.

11/1 - Officer Dan Holland participated in a Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response situation in Warden. Officers entered the house in question, however, the subject sought was not there. A quantity of marijuana was found and a rifle.

- A man on Park Avenue in Electric City told police that someone during the night had taken his snow tires that were mounted on separate wheels. Total value of the loss was set at $1,300.

- An Electric City woman with a “no-contact” order against her son told police that she had been contacted by him and received mail for him. She said that the son advised that he would come by after dark.

- An employee of the Senior Center said volunteers found an eyeglass case that contained a marijuana smoking device and other illegal articles. She said people were coming in to find used clothing for Halloween costumes from the area where the items were found.

- A Coulee City woman told police that her vehicle struck and killed a dog near Coulee Playland. She said the dog ran out in front of her vehicle and she couldn’t stop in time.

- A Grand Coulee woman reported that her 16-year-old daughter was missing. Her boyfriend said that he had dropped her off at the house after school, but the woman told police that she had been home all day and that she didn’t see her.

11/2 - A woman on Jackson Street in Electric City told officers that she had to flee the house and hide behind the neighbor’s house because her 21-year-old son had become violent after a drinking bout. He was arrested and taken to Grant County Jail and charged with with domestic violence and malicious mischief. Most of the way to jail, the man allegedly cursed the officer and made threats against him and his family.

- An Edmonds man was reported as acting suspiciously. When confronted by police, he said a person he talked to at the Visitor Center didn’t know anything, and that he planned to tour the dams at Bridgeport and Chelan.

- A 55-year-old Electric City woman climbed on top of the planters at the Continental Heights apartments. Police arrived and found that she was wanted on a warrant. She got a trip to jail.

- Officers Dan Holland and Gary Moore were called to Royal Camp to assist with the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response team in apprehending a known gang member. A search of the house in question didn’t produce the suspect. Officers were told that he was working in one of the nearby orchards. He was later taken into custody.

11/4 - A Mazama driver was cited for not having his interlock system in place after being stopped for faulty brake lights. Another person came to drive the car.

- A Mead Avenue resident told police that some boys were running around the neighborhood and apparently casing out the residences. Police stopped the youth, who said they were just returning home.

Coulee Dam Police

10/29 - Police were called to a domestic violence issue at a residence on Pine Street. They found a felon in possession of two guns. The man and his girl friend had been arguing about personal issues. The house was trust property, so Tribal Police were called. The guns were placed in Coulee Dam’s evidence room until they could be transferred to tribal authorities.

- Police were called to Lake Roosevelt High School, where a 16-year-old student had made threatening comments and gestures to other students. Officials at the school suspended the youth the day the threats became known.

- Police were called to a residence on Columbia Avenue to assist when a 61-year-old man collapsed. Grand Coulee ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital.

10/30 - Police stopped a vehicle because the tinted windows exceeded the degree allowed by law. While the vehicle was stopped, the officer gave a warning to a passenger, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

11/2 - Police responded to a 911 hang up call from a house on Birch Street and found that a 2-year-old child had accidentally dialed the number. The officer checked the residence and couldn’t find anything out of place.
