A variety of activities this Saturday will make up the “Coulee Fall Festival,” including hay rides, kids’ karaoke, a community-wide yard sale and a pet show, all just for fun.

The Coulee Fall Festival replaces the former Moonlite Madness celebration held later in October.

Get decked out, and dress up your pet, for a pet show at the skateboard park. The event begins at 10 a.m. and should be fun for both you and your pet. Remember to bring your leash. There are no restrictions on what kind of pet you bring.

Bob Valen, who has been working on the pet part of the community celebration, said that there would be certificates for winners of the event. “And we may even have a prize or two,” he added.

There’s an all-day yard sale set for North Dam Park and Event Center. Set-up time begins at 7 a.m. and the community-wide yard sale goes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It costs $5 for a 10-foot by 10-foot space. You’ll need to bring your own table.

From noon until 4 p.m. there will be an open mike karaoke for kids, sponsored by Coulee Medical Center at the concert venue, also at North Dam Park.

It’s a great opportunity for kids to showcase their talents. There’s no guarantee that there will be Hollywood scouts on hand, but it should be great fun.

Another fun event will be hay rides out of North Dam Park. They begin right after the pet show.

NCNB staff will be selling candy and gathering food and cash donations with proceeds going to the Care and Share Food Bank. And the Lions Club will take donations for hot cider, and also collect glasses and hearing aids for some of their community programs, both at North Dam Park.

The class of 2016 will sell cotton candy and drinks, Coulee Hardware will have its espresso cart there and the Tropical Pig will have its food cart at the park.

Flo’s will sell 50-cent coffee to go.

Other groups plan food and treats for sale at the park.

The Eagles Lodge features its steak night Saturday, and Banks Lake Golf Course will hold a tournament at its 18-hole course Saturday.

One of the feature events will be put on by the Planet Earth Players, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre on Grand Coulee’s Main Street.

That event is called a “Short History of Western Music with a Salute to our Hero Gene Autry.”

Featured singers of the tunes Autry sang prior to 1946 are Becky Kerns, Judy Curtis, Jamie Holeman and Darlene Morava.

Prices for those performances will be $5 a ticket.

There’s something for every age at the “Coulee Fall Festival.”
