District meets

tonight on contracts

The Grand Coulee Dam School District will hold a special meeting tonight (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. to consider two contracts related to the district’s K-12 building project. The board of directors will also consider, in executive session, personnel questions. The public is welcome to the open session of the meeting. The meeting will be held at the district office in Coulee Dam.

Smokey origin

Smoke bothering your eyes? It’s not from the reservation, but from the Antoine Creek fire near Chelan. David Nee, information officer for the Mt. Tolman Fire Center said Monday that everything on the reservation was under control. Another fire near Bridgeport apparently started during a controlled burn within an orchard, the sheriff in Douglas County said.

Council cancelled

The regular Wednesday evening town council meeting at Coulee Dam has been cancelled due to a lack of town business. The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22.
