Helping hands

Rotary Club members finish up cleaning out a carport Saturday at the home of Mardee Davis in Electric City, who has asked for help getting the home in shape after drug users, including her son, trashed it. She’s trying to gain custody of her grandchildren who entered foster care after their father’s imprisonment. Pictured are Davis, left, and Rotarians Bob Valen, Jim Keene and Merle Kennedy. Not pictured in the project are Gene Gross and Scott Hunter. The group hauled 4,260 pounds to the Delano Transfer Station in nine pickup loads that cost $278.93 cents to dump. — Scott Hunter photo
