Phoenix Shephard took on Greg Sklar of Omak in a loser-out match last Saturday at Omak High School tennis courts.

Shephard and Sklar competed against each other earlier in the season in a very close match that ended with a Sklar win.

Saturday, Shephard won the first game to take the early lead, but lost the match, his last as a Raider, 6-2, 6-0.

“Phoenix started out on top winning the first game,” commented Head Coach Steve Archer. “And even though the rest of the games were close, going to deuce many times, he was only able to rack up one more game.”

Raider tennis ends another season that was filled with hard-fought matches that saw a great deal of individual gain from many of the athletes.
