Tanecia Stanczak qualified at districts Monday in Chelan to move on to the state B golf tournament held at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club in the Tacoma suburb of Lakewood May 22.

Stanczak accomplished this by finishing with a score of 113, which placed her fifth in the district. Last year she was an alternate to state, and Head Coach Steve Files is proud of the way she has improved this year. Now Stanczak will be heading to state in her own right.

“She handled the pressure and challenges of a difficult Lake Chelan course extremely well,” Files said. “She is a very tough competitor!”

On the boys side, the state cutoff was the top 11 on the leaderboard and a score of 100 or less. Brandon Desautel came the closest with a score of 106, followed by his brother Drew Desautel, who shot a 108.

Freshman Austin Rosenbaum, in his first full season of competition, finished district with a score of 117.

Coach Files was not disappointed with their performances and states that “competition on the boys’ side was very stiff, and I am proud of the way they battled.”
