School assemblies set on bullying, substance abuse

Presentations on bullying and substance abuse will be made by Gene Tagaban at area schools next week.

Tagaban is being sponsored by the Colville Indian Housing Authority’s T.E.A.M. program (Together Everyone Achieves More).

Tagaban has 20 years experience as a performing artist, speaker, trainer and motivator.

He educates and entertains through a skillful blend of knowledge, humor, examples, stories, discussions and activities drawn from his Cherokee, Tlingit and Filipino heritage.

He will be at Lake Roosevelt High School, May 8, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.; at a combined Center School and middle school program the same day from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., at the middle school.

Wednesday, May 9, Tagaban will be at Nespelem School from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m,; and at Paschal Sherman Indian School from 1-2 p.m.

Thursday, May 10, he will give performances at Keller School from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., and at Inchelium School from 1-2 p.m.

Parents and the public are welcome to attend the performances.
