Advance tickets for the Colorama Rodeo and Cleatis Lacey Memorial Bull Ride, May 11, 12 and 13, are now on sale at Loepp Furniture in Grand Coulee.

You can purchase an advance daily pass for Friday night or Saturday for $5 for children or $8 for adults, or the Sunday bull ride for $10.

This year they have what they call the “Event Pass” with is $25 for all three days.

Action begins at 5:30 on Friday, continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and the special Cleatis Lacy Memorial Bull Ride takes off at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Officials said $2,000 has been added to the purse for Sunday’s bull riding event.

Members of the Lacey family will be present to award the bull riding winner with prize money and the championship belt buckle.

The late Cleatis Lacey, of Grand Coulee, was well known throughout rodeo circles as a competitor and volunteer.

McMillan & Layton will again provide rodeo stock this year with Mark McMillan doing his trick riding program.

Rodeo announcer will be Bob Garrett from Stratford.

Rodeo Queen Caelan Pitts will reign over the three-day program and represent the community and Ridge Riders throughout the year.

The Ridge Riders, the sponsoring group, stated that registration for the bull ride is $100; for the Mutton Busting, for 5-year olds or younger is $15 and for Steer Riding, for 14 years and under, is $25.

A new $6,000 lighting project has been completed and fans can enjoy a better lighted arena.

There will even be stick horse races for the younger set and a playhouse, built by DWK Fowler Construction, will be given away in a drawing.
