Chamber to Meet

The Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon on Thursday, April 26, at Pepper Jack’s Bar and Grille. On the agenda is Colorama.

Lincoln County Fire Dist. 9 to Meet

Lincoln County Fire District 9 will hold its regular meeting on Thursday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at the Nazarene Church outside of Grand Coulee on Hwy 174.

Grant County Port Dist. 7 to Meet

Grant County Port District 7 will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday, April 26, at 5 p.m. at the Grand Coulee Dam Airport Office.

Grant County Fire District 14 to Meet

Grant County Fire District 14 will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at the Electric City Fire Station.

OES to Meet

Order of Eastern Star will meet Thursday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. with Lynette Zierden presiding over short form opening. Officers will wear dress of choice. Joyce Moore will be providing refreshments.

Coaches Meeting for Summer League Baseball

There will be a coache’s meeting for summer league baseball on Wednesday, May 9, at 6 p.m. at Loepps. Anyone interested in having a team or being on a team should call Kevin Portch at 631-0139 or Kevin Lind at 631-0774.

POWER Group Will Meet

The POWER group (Promoters of Wildlife and Environmental Resources) will hold its annual meeting Thursday, April 26, at the Senior Center. The group plans to elect new officers and review its work on Banks Lake cleanup efforts, the first pen project and the winter quail feeding activity.

The public is invited to attend and take part in the group’s projects. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Mason Park Visitor Center Needs Volunteers

The Mason Park Visitor Information Center (MPVIC) is gearing up for another summer season.Plans are being made to open the center on Memorial Day Weekend (May 26) and continue through Sept. 3rd.

    Tentative hours of operation will be noon through 6 p.m. daily depending on the number of volunteers. This summer there will be no merchandise sold.  Big Brother will not be watching this year. If no one comes in the door, go home. Just sign out in the log book, lock the door and return the key to Harvest Foods.

    Volunteers will be necessary! If there is a poor response, the door will remain closed.

    If you can afford a few hours on a lazy, hazy summer afternoon to finish that book, morning newspaper, quilt or sewing, call 633-1579 with your name, the hours and day you can contribute time.

Food Worker Card Exams Coming

Food worker card exams will be given by the Grant County Health District at the city hall in Grand Coulee on Monday, May 7. There will be only one class at 10 a.m.

In addition to reading the health card book, which is available at the Grand Coulee City Hall, applicants must attend a 30-minute video in order to take the exam. Be on time, late arrivals will not be admitted. For those that bring a current card and it is within 60 days before the expiration date, they will need to watch the video and take the test, but may renew the card for three years. Picture ID will be required. Cost of the exam is $10, cash only.

Flag Dedication Time

The Isle of Flags is looking for those who want to dedicate a deceased veteranís flag. The deadline is May 16. For more information contact Ben Alling at 633-0663.

TOPS Meetings

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. at Grand Coulee Senior Center prior to the exercise group gathering at 10 a.m. Come and join for the health of it.

TOPS#WA1490, Coulee Dam meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., meeting following weigh in downstairs in the ground level fellowship hall in the Coulee Dam Community Presbyterian Church, 509 Central Ave., across from the Colville Tribal Museum.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit weight loss organization.

Eagles #2577 Meetings

The Eagles #2577 Aerie meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. The next meeting is Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. The Auxiliary meets the first and third Tuesday of every month. Next meeting is scheduled for May 1.

Free Pinochle

at the Seniors

Free pinochle is offered at the Grand Coulee Senior Center Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning at 1 p.m.

Them Dam Writers Meet

Them Dam Writers meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The meetings are held from 1-3:30 p.m. in the art room at the senior center. The next meeting will be May 2.

Care and Share Food Bank Open

The food bank at the Church of the Nazarene normal operating hours are Mondays from 2 to 4 p.m. It is located at the Church of Nazarene, hwy 174, Grand Coulee. The bank still can use clean plastic grocery bags.

Library has Friday

Story Time

The Grand Coulee Library Story time is every Friday at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Mondays and Thursdays 12:30 - 5:30 p.m.; Tuesdays 12:30 - 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. For information concerning library programs or services call 633-0972.

Local AA Meetings

Confused in the Coulee AA meetings are held on Mondays at 7 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m.. at the Vets Center in Electric City. Call Paul 633-3377 days or 633-3345 evenings.

New Hope Group meetings are held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Vets Center.

For more information call John 633-2448. These are open, non-smoking and handicap accessible.

In Nespelem the group Bound and Determined holds its meetings Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the Catholic Church. Contact Myrna 634-4921 for more information there.

Seniors Have Wheelchairs, Crutches Available

Through the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center a program is available to members and other persons who for a short time need a wheel chair, walkers, crutches, canes, bath stools and other items of this type.

For those who have any of the above items that are from the center and no longer used please return. If you have any of the above items in good condition and would like to donate them to the center, it would be extremely appreciated. For those who cannot deliver, pickup is available. Call 633-2321 for more information.

American Legion to Meet

The American Legion meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Vetsí Center in Electric City. The next meeting will be November 15. All veterans are welcome.
