I would like to personally, and professionally, on behalf of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and the National Park Service, thank the Grand Coulee Community for your support of the 2012 Balde Eagle Education Festival! The tremendous offerings and willingness to provide housing for speakers, venues and funds for the programs and volunteer hours assisting with programs to ensure the success of the day is greatly appreciated. We had more offers to help than there were jobs! Thanks!

We had 85 4th-6th grade students and they all had a wonderful experience!

Thanks to Tim Alling, who helped coordinate the day, placed the signs, provided lunches for all presenters and volunteers and helped clean the facilities at the end of the day. Thanks to volunteers Bob Schryvers, Linda Morgan and Bob Valen for volunteering as site coordinators and working with the presenters and students. Thanks to Dick and Barbara Riehl and James and Janis Heuvel for providing housing for those speakers and birds who needed to come the night before. Thanks to St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Ridge Riders and the Veterans Center for providing the facilities. Thanks to Dorothy Stiegelmeyer and the Federal Employees Association for providing funds for the facilities, and spreading the word for help and housing. And thanks to those who offered to help in a variety of ways in the days and weeks before the festival. Without your support and help the festival would not have run as smoothly as it did!

I look forward to working with everyone again next year!

Thank You!
