Nora L. Cantrell

Nora Cantrell, 63, was born January 8, 1949, in Austin, Texas, to Robert Jr. and Bertha Mae Miller and passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee, with her daughter Sandra by her side. She married Jesse Howard Cantrell in Travis County, Texas. Nora always fondly recalled both the Cantrell and Galloway families whose love and caring changed her world and made her life worth living.

Nora was a voracious reader, a wonderful cook and enjoyed working in her garden, but her great love was serving others as a registered nurse. She was consistently grateful to the numerous nurses and patients who made her life and life’s work so rewarding.

Preceded in death by her husband Jesse H. Cantrell; father Robert Miller Jr. and grandson Jesse Dean Collins, Nora’s legacy lives on through her mother Bertha Jane Miller; daughter Sandra (Tom) Collins; son Richard Brooks; grandchildren: Stephen Matthew (Letecia) Collins, Tyler Dean Collins and Travis Standlea Collins; 10 brothers and sisters, numerous nephews and nieces and her two beloved felines Spanky and Cali.

At Nora’s request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Her family requests donations be made in Nora’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 103 Palouse Street, Suite 14, Wenatchee, WA 98801 https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate/donateonlinenow/index or the Nurses Association of your choice. Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, is honored to be assisting Nora’s family.
