The Lady Raiders ended the regular season on a hot streak as they took down Oroville Tuesday, Feb. 7, then Bridgeport on Thursday.

Oroville made a second-half comeback in their first Raider meeting in January when the Lady Raiders won 56-50. But last Tuesday, LR allowed no chance for Hornet comeback, taking into halftime a 31-8 lead.

The Lady Raiders didn’t slack off and in the second half, they held the Hornets to only eight points per quarter, while scoring 11 and 14 points in the two remaining quarters for 56-24 win.

The LR girls faced the Fillies of Bridgeport at Thursday's Senior night game.

Before the game, Head Coach Wallace Pleasants announced the league coaches’ picks for the all-league teams. Dominique Pleasants and Roweena Antone made the first team, All Central Washington North. Jada Desatuel and Hailey Chaney made the second team. And All Central Washington North. Brianna Monaghan earned an honorable mention.

Coach Pleasants told the girls that they should use any disappointment in the all-league selections as fuel to win the games to come to prove the other coaches wrong about about their selections.

The starting lineup for Thursday's game included senior Miranda Salas in the place of Hailey Chaney. Salas went on to have her best game of the season scoring six points, grabbing needed rebounds, and fighting hard for loose balls. Senior Kim Barry also saw tremendous playing time where she played solid defense.

The Lady Raiders went for an early kill and a 20-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Lady Raiders were called for a set of unnecessary fouls. But the Ladies overcame the setbacks and found their rhythm.

Rickyna Sam went on a hot streak, hitting three back-to-back three-pointers as part of a scoring streak that put LR up 48-17 at the half. The Lady Raiders poured it on again after the half, with Dominique Pleasants hitting a three to close the third with the Ladies up 64-19.

The coach emptied the bench in the fourth, as the team experimented with different shots and offensive moves. Coach Pleasants called off the press earlier in the second half but had to remind the girls in the fourth to back up to half court a couple times.

The final score: LR 75-Bridgeport 21.

The Lady Raiders finished the regular season 14-6 overall and 10-2 in league play.

The Lady Raiders head back to Eastmont tonight to play Oroville at 7 p.m. in a loser-out game.
