Coulee Dam Police

4/8 - A Tulip Street man reported that his neighbor’s dog, a 90-pound pit bull named Rex, bit his 10-pound Grand Charles dog, J.J., that had been hooked to a cable-run in the backyard. The man yelled at the pit bull, which let go of the smaller dog. Police saw the puncture wounds on the smaller dog and saw the pit bull still in the yard which had barked and then moved towards the fence. The owner of the pit bull was contacted and said he would do what he had to do and was unhappy with the dog. Police learned later the smaller dog had a broken back and would be taken to Tacoma for further treatment, and then later learned it had to be put down. Tribal animal control took the pit bull and police advised them that the dog was considered a dangerous dog and wouldn’t be allowed back in Coulee Dam. An animal control person also said the dog had acted aggressively. Police were later told and confirmed that the pit bull also had been put down.

4/9 - An Electric Boulevard woman called 911 to say a burglary was in progress and someone was in her home. Police found her to be intoxicated and she said that no one was actually in her home. Police warned her about misuse of 911.

4/11 - A second citation was issued to a Coulee Boulevard woman regarding an animal-related code violation that she hasn’t complied with.

4/15 - A Coulee Dam resident called police regarding a theft that occurred in Spokane Valley. The person was told to contact Spokane County officers.

4/17 - A mother alleged that a bus driver had assaulted her son when he moved her son out of his way using his arm at the bus stop when the child didn’t move willingly. The incident was said to have happened near a school security person. The officer told the mother he would talk to the security person, the bus driver, and check school security cameras regarding the matter.

4/18 - A harassment report originating from Pine Street in Coulee Dam and a separate drug-related report originating from Electric Boulevard in Electric City were filed with no further details included in the unrelated reports.

[Editor’s note: Due to a personnel shortage, Grand Coulee Police have not responded with their normal efficiency to The Star’s standing request for their filed reports since Feb. 28. We look for that process to resume in the near future.]
