STCU’s response to the 2023 Gray and Oregon Road wildfires was honored for excellence by the Marketing and Business Development Council of America’s Credit Unions.

In results announced last month, judges for the Council presented five total Diamond Awards to STCU, recognizing marketing excellence in 2023. Most notable was the Carat Award for Greatest Impact, which was given in recognition of STCU’s efforts to support the communities affected by last year’s two devastating Spokane-area wildfires.

Immediately following the wildfires on August 18, STCU and its newly established Here for Good Foundation mobilized employees, members, fellow credit unions, and other community organizations to secure what eventually totaled more than $1 million in support. The credit union also offered loan payment relief and special, low-interest wildfire relief loans to affected members.

“After the wildfires, our members, our employees, and our community once again made good on STCU’s ‘here for good’ promise,” said STCU President and CEO Ezra Eckhardt. “We are thrilled to accept this Diamond Award on behalf of everyone who contributed to the relief efforts.”

Also among the five awards were three trophies for STCU’s business rebrand, which emphasizes the credit union’s “frank” approach to business banking.

In total, STCU received five Diamond Awards:

Greatest Impact (wildfire relief)

Complete Campaign (STCU Business)

Video Commercial, Single or Series (STCU Business “frank” campaign)

Category’s Best for Rebrand/New Corporate Identity (STCU Business)

Content Marketing (STCU Money Blog)
