12/23 - Police checked on a report of a man lying on the sidewalk in front of the Mariah House Apartments on Main Street. Police found the man known to them, and he stated he would walk home to his place on Hill Avenue.

- A man who had pulled into the crane area at the top of the dam to answer his phone was told it was not a parking area. He moved on to the the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam to continue his phone conversation.

12/24 - Police responded to an alarm at Banks Lake Pub in Electric City. A delivery man told police that it was his first delivery to the Pub and he couldn’t find the security panel to shut off the alarm. He was checked out and a key holder arrived to say that all was well.

- An officer was requested to close the gate at the 500 switchyard even though Bureau vehicles were inside.

- Police were asked to close and secure the gate at the 500 switchyard after someone had left it open.

- A Grand Coulee man was stopped on Roosevelt Drive when the officer noticed his license tabs had expired in 2011. He was cited for that infraction and for not having insurance.

12/25 - Three females got a Christmas gift courtesy of officer Gary Moore. He reported that their vehicle had hit a rock in the road and had a flat tire near the 230 spreader yard on SR-174. None of the occupants of the car knew how to change a tire, so the officer did so for them. They were on their way to Spokane International Airport.

- Police responded to a call of a family fight on 5th Street NE in Electric City and learned that the dispute was just verbal.

12/26 - An officer went to Van Tyne Avenue on a report that a man was unstable and hitting himself. When police found him he tried to shut the door on them. After telling the man that he could be tasered if he didn’t respond to the officer’s orders he allowed the officer into the trailer. The officer learned of two warrants for his arrest and he was taken to Grant County Jail.

- Police found the gate open at the 500 yard and reported to Plant Protection that there was one Bureau vehicle inside. The officer was asked to secure the gate.

- Police were informed by a resident on Butler Square that he was missing a pontoon boat and a kayak. The value for the two was set at $1,000.

- Police went to E Street, where it was reported that there was a medical issue. The officer was notified that there were “many” people inside the residence and it sounded like they had been drinking and were combative. When the officer arrived, medical personnel had a man on a stretcher and were taking him to the hospital. The officer stood by until the man was loaded into the ambulance.

- Police were called to the Eagles Lodge, where a man refused to leave when requested. When the officer arrived the man was outside. The staff said they wanted the man banned for a year. The officer advised the man that he was banned, and he left on foot.

- An officer checked on a break-in report at the Eagles Lodge. A staff person reported that an upstairs storage area had been broken into. A train set, an old typewriter and an old cash register were missing. The bartender told police of a man who had been trying to sell a train set, and she had seen it at his home.

12/28 - A Winthrop driver was issued a ticket for failing to stop at Four Corners and for having a defective tail light.

- Police checked on a suspicious person near the UPS staging area on Vantyne and found a man stirring a pile of leaves with a metal pipe. When asked what he was doing, the man said he was hoping to find a $5 bill in the leaves. The officer suggested that he leave the area.

- Police were advised of a domestic issue at a residence in Butler Square. A woman told the officer that she had slapped her 14-year-old son because he wouldn’t leave his siblings alone.

- A woman on Weil Place reported to police that there were two people at her residence who refused to leave. One wanted on a warrant was taken to Grant County Jail. The woman who lived there said she wanted both parties banned from her home and they were so advised.

- An Elmer City man was cited for defective brake lights and not having insurance after an officer noticed that his brake light did not work when he stopped at Four Corners. Police are sending the report to the Grant County prosecutor’s office for review since the man had been cited earlier for driving while his license was suspended.
